Gondor is one of the oldest on the server. It has seen several stewards, many wars, and dark times. There is no steward currently.

History

History section needs cleanup, as well as more information on the old days of Gondor.

Back in the old days of the server, a man named Anardial (Traceus) ascended the throne of steward. He was indeed a powerful king, and kept Gondor safe from orcs and evil men,he had created many alliances and kept Gondor safe from harm. His companions Aragost (xClock or know as R3verse_Flash) Prince of Gondor and his Steward Robert (RobDaBob)had helped him by his side for ages to come. Then one day Anardial and his son Aragost went on a ride to the forces of Rohan ruled by Theoden (Arvasil or maurizo_blaze). During there journey they were ambushed by by the forces of Dunland. For weeks no one knew were the King and his Prince were and kept searching, till they lost hope. At the end of his reign, Moldur (KingTotalWar) arrived in Gondor, and there was an election being held to decide the next steward. ConsulScipio (Scipio) was chosen. Scipio recognized Moldur's loyalty and bravery, and made him the Marshal of Gondor, the commander of the realm's armies.

When Scipio left the server, he gave stewardship to Nodas. Nothing notable happened during his reign. Nodas eventually gave stewardship to Moldur.

Moldur created the Western Alliance, an old alliance between the Woodland Realm, Dol Amroth, High Elves, and Gondor. Together, they were a feared opponent of evil. However, the Alliance didn't last, and soon, its member states had all gone inactive, except for Gondor. Gondor was fearful of Gundabad attacking, but they were shocked when their neighbors to the south, Near Harad, attacked, starting the War of the South.

The war was disastrous, and Gondor didn't win a single battle, although Harad's following of the rules was (and still is) seriously questioned. Harad also had more players than Gondor, including several staff.

Near Harad owned Gondor for a time, but eventually gave it to Rohan, ruled by Theoden (Arvasil), while crusading against the High Elven Islands, an old faction that was the predecessor to the High Elves. Near Harad ended up signing a treaty with The Islands, so no one won, or lost.

Moldur tried convincing Rohan to give stewardship back, but Rohan didn't. Unknown to Moldur at the time, King Theoden planned to give Gondor to someone of full dunedain blood (for Moldur was half elven). That person was the King of Arnor Halbarad (Lammerant). Doing this, they could also unite the realms of Arnor and Gondor.

Near Harad attacked Rohan. After losing a siege at Edoras, Near Harad quickly signed a treaty with Rohan, avoiding further destruction. Meanwhile, the Norhern Dúnedain gave Gondor to Arvedui (crafter6789), since they didn't want to try and govern Gondor(and face a potential civil war). Arvedui had a big job ahead of him: to make Gondor stronger once again. However, after three days, the peopleceased to recognize his kingship, as he wasn't descended from Moldur (and he got temp-banned). Not only that, but the Uruk-hai had risen, and they had two very good PvP players: Gurlakdar (Koray)and dr_destructor.

Arvedui convinced a Blue Mountains dwarf to join him in Gondor, Eoros (e_0_s). Eoros wanted, above all else, to put down the Uruk-hai. He promised people that Arvedui would attack the Uruk-hai, and liberate the innocent Dunlendings, as the Uruk-hai had gained control over north Dunland, and planned to have a servant of theirs claim the land, against the wishes of the other Dunlendings.

Arvedui never said these things, so they ended up having a bunch of followers that had been tricked into following. However, Gondor was faced with even bigger problems from within. With no king, a race to claim began between Moldur, Arvedui, and Calimehtar (Pineapple_Bomb) who had gathered several followers, including dr_destructor (now known as Faramir), to his side. Gondor threatened to fall apart, and the tensions reached a climax at the Siege of Pelargir. The Siege of Pelargir was when dr_destructor, a High Elven prince, and a Dorwinion man attacked Pelargir with Eoros and Cailrath inside. Eoros escaped, but Cailrath died, and the Siege ended up being largely pointless.

For a long time, it seemed as if Arvedui would claim. However, Moldur had finally gotten back on the server. He had the advantage, as his city of Pinnath Gelin was already complete, but unapproved by the admins. Many of the Gondorians remembered his first efforts as steward, and therefore supported him to reclaim his place. Eoros was assassinated by Dunlendings, and e_0_s left for the Northern Dúnedain. At that exact moment, Moldur took the throne again, after 20 years of chaos, naming himself Valaglar, "glorious-power".

Gondor grew into a very powerful nation, although Near Harad and Mordor (recently claimed by b3ngaan (Sauron) ) had also become exceedingly powerful. The two factions discussed their plans of attacking Gondor. Valaglar desperately called for old players to join again, and they did, but only for the sake of protecting Gondor. Gondor had been filled with noobs, so Valaglar was afraid that it would fall quickly to Mordor.

Mordor, however, fell apart within a few weeks, only to rose again under the influence of bossninja4 (Sauron). Near Harad, once again, planned to attack Gondor. However, they intended not to use Mordor's help.

Umbar acted friendly to Gondor, telling them that they was separating, because they wanted peace with Gondor, but Near Harad didn't. Umbar suggested that Gondor invade Near Harad, and put down the threat. Umbar's diplomat, Hazuymah (Tepelstreeltje) was quite charismatic, and Gondor intended to attack Near Harad. However, after e_0_s revealed plans of the war in chat, Gondor ended up not completing their plans. It ended up being the right decision, as Umbar was not separating from Near Harad, and Gondor would have had to deal with one of the strongest factions on the server.

After a long time of peace, Mordor foolishly attacked Gondor. Gondor lost the first siege when they attacked Minas Morgul. From thenceforward, however, Gondor won every siege, even taking the Mordor capital of Nargroth. Gondor had taken Mordor, which was thought to be unconquerable.

Gondor annexed Dol Amroth next, in an attempt to overtake it, so Gondor could use Swan Knights. The Prince of Dol Amroth, Imrahil (mi9i) , had gone inactive and couldn't care less about losing his realm, so he gave Gondor Dor-en-ernil.

Gondor had now claimed Mordor and Dor-en-ernl, but their power would not go unchallenged. The orcish stronghold of Gundabad, recently returned to power under Hoknath, declared war on Gondor in the hope of reclaiming Mordor. Several sieges have taken place, they have all been bloody with both sides fighting for every inch of ground. The war became a war of attrition, even though staff didn't allow Gondor to claim victory over Gundabad, they indeed have outlasted them. Gundabad is no more, yet Gondor stands tall. (Hoknath got banned and all his realms got un-done.)

Valaglar then took steps to solidify The West's hold on the evil realms, to do this, he recreated The Western Alliance, with a new treaty, almost all the westerneese (Rohan, Gondor, Mirkwood, Dorwinion, and Dale). Governed by a council made up of the nation rulers, and monitored by a treaty that resembles a constitution, it has the potential of being one of the most effective alliances ever.

As Valaglar had predicted long before, the Easterlings of Rhun began to rise, they posed a large threat not only to Gondor, but the alliance itself. The Alliance began preparations for the inevitable war, this war would be a bloody one, Rhun had some of the best warriors known in Middle-Earth, one of whom, infamously defeated Gondor in The War of the South, Suladan.

There were worse things happening though, tensions had grown ever worse between Val and the admins, he often called them out when he thought they had done wrong, or broken their own rules, but that was usually brushed aside by the staff. This did not matter though, they reached a breaking point, where the admins threatened to ban Valaglar from the server if he should argue again. Rules were constantly being changed on the brink of war, Val was outraged, he felt the rules were deliberately being changed to hinder Gondor being able to defend itself (the rules for bases were changed and made all of Gondor's builds illegal for besieging, despite the fact that the fortresses had been in 3 wars prior, and there were no complaints. It was also changed so that you could still declare a siege on an illegal build, but instantly win.) Rohan soon after left the alliance.

With hatered only growing for him because of spreading rumors, true or not, they didn't matter. He knew that something must be done to save Gondor, no one was willing to negotiate with him, doom approached. Valaglar knew what he must do, he had to step down from Stewardship. He finally did, giving stewardship to his adopted heir Aragost_II. 3 years earlier, Valaglar's brother Lyric, King of Lothlorien, had been killed by the hand of the Witch King of Angmar, slain before Valaglar's very eyes. The fact that he couldn't save his brother, haunted him for the rest of his life. The constant memory of that loss was horrid. What finally did him in, was when he gave up the country he love, he had to leave the country he cherished so much, in order to save it. He had lost so much in life, his father, his mother, his brother, and now the kingdom that he had built from the ground up. It was too much for him, the sheer ammount of loss finally broke him, and his heart shattered. The life of the Eldar began to leave him. He took a final look at his beloved city of Pinnath Gelin, he always thought it beautiful at night, and retired to his death bed. His last words being, "The most important thing in life, is not how long you live, but what you leave behind, your legacy, I only wish, I could leave you.......more." His death was not all sadness, for as he breathed his last, he thought that he could hear the sound of his brother calling to him from the White Shores. He died peacefully in his home, a fitting end to one who's life was wrought with hardships.

Gondor was given to Aragost_II (bowbow007), but he gave Mordor to Easterlings, and left Gondor "to give it a reset". Gondor is has been in a place of desolation for a while, but it is rumor that Aragost, Prince of Gondor (xClock or R3verse_Flash) has been found be the forces of Rohan led by Theoden (Arvasil or maurizo_blaze) and Aragost will soon be returned home to seek for his father Anardail (Traceus) with the help of Rohan and his fellow friends of Gondor.
